Organizations

The American Mathematical Society and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics are the two umbrella organizations for mathematicians in the USA.  SIAM Activity Groups of special interest to mathematical crystallography include:

• The Activity Group for Discrete Mathematics 
• The Activity Group for Geometric Design 
• The Activity Group for Imaging Science 
• The Activity Group for Mathematical Aspects of Materials Science

Across the Atlantic, the European Mathematical Society “promotes the development of all aspects of mathematics in Europe.”
