Journals

Many journals focus on this or that aspect of crystallography.

• Acta Crystallographica Section A: Foundations of Crystallography is the IUCr’s theoretical journal.
• The IUCr’s Applied Crystallography focuses on “crystallographic methods to study crystalline and non-crystalline matter with neutrons, X-rays and electrons,” and is “is the primary place where crystallographic computer program information is published.”
• The American Chemical Society’s Crystal Growth and Design is interested in “theoretical and experimental studies of the physical, chemical, and biological phenomena and processes related to the design, growth, and application of crystalline materials” but not “routine reports of crystal or molecular structures.”
• Wiley’s Crystal Research & Technology is interested in “experimental, industrial, and theoretical crystallography.”
• Oldenbourg’s Zeitschrift für Kristallographie publishes Crystalline Materials, New Crystal Structures, Proceedings (of international conferences) and a Supplement.
• The Royal Society’s CrystEngComm.
